Looking for something besides a coffee mug to give your favorite teacher this year? Here you’ll find some of the best tech gifts for teachers. These technology gadgets and accessories for teachers can be used inside and outside of the classroom.

Plus they are great no matter what subject or grade level your favorite teacher works!

Technology Wish List for Teachers

I have a secret confession…

Every year, I gush and even tear up over some of my sweet teacher gifts from students and parents, BUT…

…I also keep a special technology wish list that I HOPE will be fulfilled before the year ends!

Tech gifts for teachers don’t just benefit learning in the classroom, but they also help make life efficient outside the classroom. Since so many of us are already buying supplies for learning, we cross our fingers in hopes of scoring the latest technology for education!

If you want to really go all out for your fave teacher, check out some of these affordable and awesome tech gifts below.

Tech Gifts for Teachers That Don’t Break the Bank!

Tech Gift 1: The Adjustable Cell Phone & Tablet Stand

Teachers use their smartphones with teaching and lesson planning so much these days. My phone is a constant companion to my teaching.

Having a durable stand makes this so much easier for me!

I got this Rose Gold stand because it’s adjustable, there are small holes for my charger to fit through, and it can also hold my iPad. The price is amazing considering the quality of this baby.

I use it with my iPad during some centers when I want my students to scan a QR code for the answer key.

My current phone is an iPhone 8 Plus with an Otterbox case (which is pretty thick) and this stand holds my phone without any problems.

This tech gift is great for any teacher on your list who wants a quality stand to use in the classroom and at home.

Tech Gift 2: Wireless Mouse for ANY Laptop or Computer

My second favorite item on the list of tech gifts for teachers is a good, high-quality, wireless mouse that can be used with any computer!

Just like the smartphone, our laptops and MacBooks see frequent use in our busy teacher lives. The mousepad on laptops is great, but sometimes you just want a good mouse to hold and maneuver.

This USB Optical Wireless Mouse is very cheap and I’ve had it for three years now! I use it every single week.

It works like a charm!

If you want something more durable with a higher quality, the Jelly Comb Wireless mouse has gotten rave reviews. Besides, you can’t forget a name like that for a mouse!

Oh, and if you get a wireless mouse, I highly recommend these gel-cushioned mousepads. They’re like having a special mattress for your hands and wrists!

Tech Gift 3: We-Mo Smart Plug

I am so in love with the We-Mo Smart Plugs that I could write an entire blog post on this tech accessory alone!

These babies are used in my home and classroom, because they make life so much more convenient. A lot of people think you HAVE to use Alexa with the We-Mo Smart Plug, but this isn’t true at all.

Here’s how it works:

  1. You download the FREE We-Mo Smart Plug app on your phone.
  2. Plug your We-Mo into any outlet and sync it with your phone’s app.
  3. Then plug anything you want into the We-Mo and enjoy having instant access through your phone.

Here are some the ways I use my We-Mo Smart Plugs as a teacher:

  • I’ve programmed my coffee pot to automatically turn on in the mornings so that I can “caffeinate” for the day.
  • I use lamps in my classroom because those fluorescent lights drive me crazy some days! Plus the softer lamps create a “homey” and calm feeling in my class.

My We-Mo app is programmed to automatically turn my lamps on in the classroom right before I walk in the door. This is wonderful since my hands are usually full anyway!
  • I use essential oil diffusers in my classroom and the We-Mo turns these on and off for me at certain times throughout the school day.

Definitely get this, even if the special teacher in your life isn’t “tech-savvy.” They’ll really appreciate this anyway.

Tech Gift 4: Osmo Genius Kit for Hands-on Learning

This is one of the best tech gifts for teachers that can be used to enhance learning in the classroom: Osmo Genius Kit.

The Osmo learning tools make great tech gadgets for teaching!

Not only do I use the entire line of products for centers in my classroom, but I also use them at home with my son.

By the way, I am NOT being sponsored to talk about Osmo! But I highly recommend them anyway if you’re looking to buy some tech tools that are educational.

Many of the Osmo resources do have to be used with an iPad, which is a downside for Android users. But their Creative Kit can be used with Android devices.

Your teacher friend won’t be mad that this tech gift isn’t a personal one, especially since there’s so much that can be done with it in the classroom!

Tech Gift 5: La Cie Mini Portable Hard Drive

Ok–so, I have a horror story about my laptop and our school server: one year, we had so many viruses coming through our email system.

I accidentally clicked a link in an email that I thought was from a co-worker (but definitely wasn’t!), and everything on my computer was wiped out!

YES…Everything!!

I felt anxious and on-edge for at least three days! All my Smartboard Lessons, Powerpoints, tests, and quizzes…on and on! GONE.

Major lesson learned for me. So I invested in my own personal external hard drive, which I use quite often to back-up my files.

Whether you use a personal or school-issued computer, I HIGHLY recommend getting one of these! Even if you think the “cloud” will have everything stored and saved, don’t take that chance.

The La Cie Mini Portable Hard Drive was my choice because it was recommended by so many others, it is light and easy to carry, and SUPER simple to use.

I like how fast it uploads my material. And the price beats out others that I researched with the same features.

Be a blessing to yourself and other teachers by getting this tech gift!

Tech Gift 6: Cell Phone Sanitizer & Charger

This wonderful device was listed in Oprah’s magazine a couple years ago, and I HAD to get one!

Every teacher knows that germs and sickness get shared in classrooms more than anything else.

We underestimate how much awful bacteria get on our cell phones.

This tech gadget is called the Phone Soap 3. Don’t let the name fool you, there’s no water or actual soap going on your phone. It is a clinically-proven UV Light Sanitizer for your cell phone.

It also charges your phone’s battery while it cleans it.

I don’t know if every cell phone size will fit (although the reviews say that many different types of phone do fit), so be sure to do your research.

But EVERY teacher will benefit from having a UV cell phone sanitizer! Actually, every person who works with kids in any capacity needs one of these!

Tech Gift 7: A Stylish Laptop or Tablet Cover

My final item on the list of tech gifts for teachers is a cute laptop or tablet cover.

I love switching out my MacBook and iPad covers! This recommended tech accessory isn’t a “need,” but it sure is FUN to have!

This beautiful gray and white chevron pattern makes my third one so far for my computer. Hey, don’t judge me–they’re much cheaper and easier to pop on than you think!

Plus you can find almost any design under the sun! Here are some of my favorites:

HUGE DISCLAIMER: Check the model number on the bottom of whatever laptop you use. MAKE SURE it matches the description of any case you want to purchase.

Trust me, it is a pain trying to exchange already opened cases!
