๐Ÿท๏ธ Calling them stations vs. centers isnโ€™t the main point! The main point is that every upper elementary teacher should have these in their classroom.

Have you ever used answer buzzers in your class? ๐Ÿ˜ฎ They can make any lesson feel more energetic and exciting!! ๐Ÿคฉ

๐Ÿ’ต The Dollar Tree now sells them (this is not a sponsored post). You can also get a set of 4 from Amazon.

I've used both and here are ways that they make learning more fun:

โžก๏ธ For a whole class review, divide students into teams.

๐Ÿ‘ฏCall two students up to the front at a time. Have them stand with their hands behind their back to listen carefully to you ask a review question. (Use for any subject.)

๐ŸšจEach student will have a buzzer in front of him or her.

๐Ÿฅ‡ The student who hits the buzzer first gets to answer the question. IF they answer correctly, their team gets the point. IF the answer is incorrect, the other student gets a chance to answer it.

Each playing different rounds until a team is declared a winner. ๐Ÿ†

โš ๏ธBUUUUTTTT, just like with any energetic, fast-paced game you need to establish the rules and state your behavior expectations up front! Since these kind of games are so high-energy (plus the buzzers are LOUD), then it helps to have a signal that you use to get the students quiet.

๐Ÿ–๐Ÿพ I like to use signals that don't require sound (like turning off all the lights or holding up a hand signal--GIVE ME FIVE) for students to understand that they are too loud and need to settle down.

๐Ÿค— I promise you that having these buzzers in your class is worth it. They increase the engagement factor SO much!

Raise your hand in the comments if you would use something like this in your classroom! ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿฝโ€โ™€๏ธ
If you've already tried them, what are your thoughts on them?
